Marine Electrical Services
From cabling and switchboards to generators, drives, automation and shore power — our engineers install, upgrade and repair the systems that keep your vessel working. In the yard, in port, on board or offshore.
One electrical plant. Engineers who understand all of it.
Your vessel's electrical plant is one system. Generators feed the main switchboard, the switchboard feeds distribution, and distribution feeds every motor, drive and controller on board — change one part and the rest feel it. That's why we work across the whole plant: new installations, upgrades and fault finding.
Your deadline sets the plan — a docking, a port call, a regulation date. We survey first, plan against that date and finish with testing and commissioning, so you sign off on work that is already proven.
What we can do for your vessel
Pick the work you need — each service has its own page with the full scope.
Installation & Outfitting
New electrical installations and additions: cable routing and pulling, equipment installation, connection into switchboards and distribution, and integration with automation and control — tested and commissioned before handover.
Retrofit & Modernization
Upgrading a vessel in service: replacing obsolete components, modernizing switchboards, distribution and controls, and adding new loads — shore power among them — without losing what already works.
Repair & Troubleshooting
Fault finding and repair on switchboards, generators, motors, drives, controls and cabling — on board, alongside or in the yard — worked through methodically from symptom to cause.
Shore Power / AMP
Our strongest specialization: high-voltage shore connections engineered to IEC/IEEE/ISO 80005-1, from the load survey to commissioning.

Where we work
Based in Istanbul. On site wherever your vessel is.
- Shipyards — inside a docking or yard period
- Ports — alongside during a port call
- Onboard — while the vessel is in service
- Offshore — on vessels working offshore
- International mobilisation — from Türkiye to the vessel
Vessel types
Every vessel type brings its own electrical challenges. We work on:
- Container ships
- Bulk carriers
- Tankers
- Offshore and specialised vessels
OOCL Montreal at Sefine Shipyard
On the 4,402 TEU container ship OOCL Montreal, Orion Marine delivered the AMP shore power and marine-electrical scope during a combined yard period at Sefine Shipyard in 2026 — working to the yard's dock schedule, so the vessel left commissioned.

Installation, retrofit or repair — every job follows the same disciplined sequence.
- 01
Survey
Survey and scope
We look at the installation, the drawings and the operating conditions, and agree a scope that fits the vessel's schedule.
- 02

Engineering and mobilisation
Design, drawings and equipment are prepared against the deadline, and the team is mobilised to the yard, the port or the vessel.

Work, testing and handover
The work is carried out, tested and commissioned, and handed over with the test records.

Questions about marine electrical work
- What does a marine electrical contractor do?
- Installs, upgrades and repairs a vessel's electrical systems — cabling, switchboards and distribution, generators, motors and drives, automation and control — and proves the work through testing and commissioning. Orion Marine covers that scope, with shore power as a specialization.
- Can you work on a vessel outside Türkiye?
- Yes. Our base is in Istanbul, and the team mobilises internationally when a project requires it — to a shipyard, a port or the vessel itself. Tell us where the vessel will be, and when.
- Do you work on vessels in service as well as new installations?
- Yes. We install new electrical systems and equipment, and we upgrade, retrofit and repair vessels that are already trading. See installation and outfitting and retrofit and modernization.
- What do you need from us to scope a job?
- The vessel's name and type, where she will be and when, what the work is, and any drawings or reports you already have. A survey on board usually follows before the scope is fixed.
